Paint Protection & Ceramic Coating in Auckland
AUCKLAND’S ELITE IDA-CERTIFIED STUDIO
Uncompromised craftsmanship. Strictly one car per day.
Located in Mt Wellington, The Coating Lab is a purpose-built, climate-controlled workspace designed around a strict boundary: one vehicle per day. We deliberately reject high-volume commercial throughput to focus entirely on meticulous results. Utilising world-class nano-technologies from Gtechniq and ONYX Coating — including 10H hardness and advanced graphene systems — we deliver multi-year protection and depth of gloss that standard volume shops cannot replicate.
Handcrafted by Ryan & Abbie
Founded by Ryan, who has been hands-on in the Auckland coating industry since 2014, our studio was built as a direct counter to rushed, assembly-line detailing. The Coating Lab is fully owner-operated by Ryan and his partner, Abbie. When you drop off your car, it is never handed off to an apprentice or a rotating trainee. Every square inch of paint correction and coating application is executed exclusively by the two of us, ensuring absolute accountability.
The Studio & Technology
High-End Protection & Correction
10H Hardness • 9 Years Protection
Accredited Gtechniq and ONYX application. Extreme hydrophobic properties, deep gloss enhancement, and chemical resistance that outlasts factory clear coat.
Leather, Fabric & Trim Defense
Factory-matte protection against UV fade, dye transfer, and liquid spills. Keeps high-end leather and alcantara feeling brand new.
Swirl & Scratch Elimination
Multi-stage machine polishing that strips away oxidation, swirling, and marring—restoring true mirror-like clarity and colour depth before coating goes on.
